ADN Bridge Program Students Honored at OFTC Pinning Ceremony

Oconee Fall Line Technical College (OFTC) celebrated the achievements of forty-three Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) Bridge Program graduates during a pinning ceremony held Wednesday, July 29, on the Sandersville Campus.

This ceremony marked the successful completion of OFTC’s eighth ADN Bridge cohort—an accelerated and rigorous program designed for Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) and paramedics with at least one year of in-field experience, offering them a pathway to become Registered Nurses (RNs).

“These students have balanced an intense academic load while continuing to work and support their families,” shared Jodi Warren, OFTC’s Director of Nursing. “Their determination and perseverance have been inspiring, and I am confident they will go on to make a meaningful impact in the healthcare field.”
Michele Strickland, OFTC’s Vice President for Academic Affairs, praised graduates for the determination and resilience that led them to this achievement.

“Today is a time to celebrate your hard work, determination and resilience,” she said. “You have overcome challenges, achieved your goals and are now just one step away from beginning your careers as registered nurses.”

Graduates received a symbolic nursing pin, a tradition rooted in the Crusades and carried forward by Florence Nightingale in the 1860s, to recognize the dedication and compassion of nurses entering the profession. Each pin represents the graduate’s readiness to take the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN).

OFTC now offers two pathways for becoming a RN – the ADN Bridge Program on the Sandersville Campus and a traditional 2-year Associate of Science in Nursing Degree program on the Dublin Campus.
