Disabled Veterans Support Scholarship
The Disabled Veterans Support Scholarship (DVSS) provides financial assistance to eligible disabled veterans enrolled in Georgia’s technical colleges. Funded through voluntary state income tax return donations, DVSS helps cover tuition, required supplies, transportation, and other educational expenses—reducing financial barriers and supporting veterans as they pursue training and career advancement.
About the Scholarship
The Disabled Veterans Support Scholarship was created to support U.S. military veterans with service-connected disabilities as they pursue technical education in Georgia. Administered by the Technical College System of Georgia Foundation, DVSS helps veterans focus on completing their programs and preparing for high-demand careers by addressing the full cost of attendance—not just tuition.
Eligibility Snapshot
Eligible applicants must:
- Be a U.S. military veteran (not a dependent)
- Be enrolled in a credit-bearing Technical Certificate, Diploma, or Degree program
- Attend full-time or part-time
- Provide valid VA documentation showing a service-connected disability rating
Scholarship funding is made possible through voluntary Georgia income tax return contributions, reflecting the state’s ongoing commitment to those who have served.
College Financing Plan (Shopping Sheet)
Oconee Fall Line Technical College (OFTC) has adopted the Principles of Excellence Standard issued in Executive Order 13607. In adopting the Principles of Excellence, OFTC is committed to providing prospective students, who self-identify as U.S. veterans or a dependent of a veteran with information on our cost of attendance, the financial aid process, available financial assistance to defray educational costs, and consumer information. This information is provided on the College Financing Plan.
The College Financing Plan (formerly known as the Financial Aid Shopping Sheet) is a standardized form developed by the U.S. Department of Education to simplify the information students receive from colleges and universities about educational costs and financial aid so they can easily compare institutions and make informed decisions about which institution to attend.
The College Financing Plan will be available to the student within 14 days of charges posting to the student’s account. Students will be mailed a copy of the college financing plan and/or may access it on SOAR under the Financial Aid tab.
For information on applying for financial aid, view the Financial Aid Information on our website.
