Tina Meeks, an adjunct instructor in Adult Education at Oconee Fall Line Technical College (OFTC), was recently named the college’s 2026 Outstanding Adult Education Teacher of the Year.
A resident of Laurens County, Meeks has served OFTC students for six years, helping countless adult learners build confidence, develop essential skills, and achieve their educational goals.
“Tina consistently goes above and beyond to support our students and colleagues,” said Connie Burgamy, Dean of OFTC’s Adult Education program. “Her dedication, creativity, and passion for helping adult learners reach their goals truly embody the mission of our program. This recognition is a well-deserved reflection of her outstanding work and commitment.”
“My passion has always been helping students reach their goals,” Meeks said. “In Adult Education, I get to see learners overcome obstacles, earn their GED, and gain the confidence to keep growing long after they leave the classroom.”
The Outstanding Adult Education Teacher of the Year Award recognizes educators who demonstrate excellence in instruction, innovation, and leadership. Honorees exemplify a deep commitment to the mission of the Technical College System of Georgia’s Office of Adult Education and make a lasting impact on their students and communities.
OFTC’s Adult Education program provides free classes to help students strengthen basic literacy skills and earn their high school equivalency through the GED® or HiSET® exams.
