Kelley Braxton, Clinical Coordinator and Instructor for Oconee Fall Line Technical College’s (OFTC) Respiratory Technology program and Division Chair for the Allied Health Department, has been named a top nine finalist in the Technical College System of Georgia’s (TCSG) 2026 Rick Perkins Award (RPA) competition.

The announcement was made during a banquet honoring all Georgia Occupational Award of Leadership (GOAL) and RPA finalists from the state’s 22 technical colleges, held in Atlanta on Tuesday, April 21.

“We are thrilled to have Kelley represent OFTC as a top nine regional finalist,” said Michele Strickland, Vice President of Academic Affairs at OFTC. “Her dedication to student success, combined with her leadership and innovation in the classroom, truly set her apart.”

The Rick Perkins Award for Excellence in Technical Instruction recognizes the Technical College System of Georgia’s most outstanding instructors who make significant contributions to technical education through innovation and leadership.

Braxton, along with the other regional finalists, will participate in an additional round of interviews before this year’s state winner is announced on Wednesday evening, April 22. The 2026 state RPA winner will go on to serve as an ambassador for TCSG, representing technical education across Georgia throughout the year.
