OFTC Graduates Honored with 2026 Fall Commencement & High School Equivalency Ceremony

More than 50 Oconee Fall Line Technical College (OFTC) credit and High School Equivalency (HSE) graduates were honored during the College’s 2026 Fall Commencement & HSE Ceremony held on the Sandersville Campus, Thursday, September 24.

Graduates received degrees, diplomas and technical certificates of credit in a variety of high-demand fields like Automation, Nursing, Cybersecurity, Welding and Joining Technology, and more. Some graduates received high school equivalency diplomas.

“Today is a celebration of you — the hard work, determination and perseverance that brought you to this moment,” said OFTC Interim President Rosemary Selby while addressing the graduates. “You have worked through challenges, stayed committed to your goals and earned this opportunity to celebrate your accomplishments. I hope you take a moment to recognize just how much you have achieved and the people who helped you along the way.

“As you leave OFTC and begin your next chapter, carry with you the knowledge, skills and confidence you have gained here,” Selby continued. “Whatever path you choose, you have the ability to make a difference in your workplace, your community and the lives of others. We are proud of you, we believe in you, and we cannot wait to see what you accomplish.”

Keisha Pooler, an educator, author, inspirational speaker and spoken word artist with 30 years of experience in Georgia’s public education system addressed the graduates, applauding them for their hard work and dedication in accomplishing their goals.

“Don’t you allow this accomplishment to become the greatest thing you ever decide you’re going to do,” she said. “I want it to be the thing that helps you decide you can do more.”

“Promise that you will keep learning, keep growing, keep trying,” she added. “Do not allow obstacles to convince you that you have nothing to offer the world; that you will not let someone else’s opinion become a seal on your life; that when you gain knowledge you will share it; that when you open a door you will leave it open. That as you become more successful, you will reach back and help someone else.”

Following Pooler’s address, graduates walked across the stage to receive their credentials, officially marking the completion of their programs.
