OFTC – Oconee Fall Line Technical College (OFTC) is celebrating record enrollment growth this fall, with 2,377 students enrolled in classes — a 14.2% increase over last fall. This marks the third largest percentage increase among all 22 colleges in the Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG), according to the system’s Seven Day Enrollment Report for the fall semester.
Building on four consistent years of enrollment growth, OFTC credits its success to the dedicated efforts of faculty and staff who foster a caring culture across campuses while staying focused on the mission of preparing a skilled workforce to meet local industry needs.
“This growth is a testament to the quality of education and support we provide our students, and it wouldn’t be possible without each and every one of our instructors and staff members,” shared OFTC President, Erica Harden.
While growth is evident across the board, the College’s nursing, automation, and manufacturing programs have seen the largest spike.
“Georgia is investing heavily in healthcare and advanced manufacturing, and OFTC is proud to be part of that effort,” Harden added. “The growth in these programs is proof that we’re preparing a skilled workforce ready to meet the demands of these vital industries in Middle Georgia. That preparation starts with the dedication of our faculty and staff, who provide students with the guidance and education they need to succeed in their chosen field.”
With programs expanding and enrollment continuing to rise, OFTC is providing students multiple pathways to start or strengthen their academic progress this fall, including online and in-person courses as well as the eight-week minimester.
“Our eight-week minimester begins October 14, and students still have the opportunity to enroll,” said Dr. Saketha Adams, OFTC’s Vice President for Student Affairs. “Whether students are just starting or continuing their studies, our dedicated faculty and staff are helping ensure they gain the knowledge and skills needed to succeed in high-demand careers and make an impact in their chosen fields.”
