Avery Nobles of Dublin has been selected as Oconee Fall Line Technical College’s (OFTC) 2026 Exceptional Adult Georgian in Literacy Education (EAGLE) winner. Nobles will represent the college at the EAGLE Leadership Institute in Atlanta in March 2026.
Nobles earned his high school equivalency in August and plans to enroll in Welding and Joining Technology classes this spring.
Each year, adult education instructors across Georgia nominate outstanding students for the EAGLE recognition program, which honors exceptional achievement in adult education. Nominees are chosen based on their character, attitude, attendance, leadership, and community involvement. To advance, students must submit a written speech and participate in an interview with a panel of judges.
EAGLE was the first statewide program in the nation created to recognize and reward excellence among students enrolled in adult education programs. It aims to raise awareness of educational opportunities available in local communities and to promote lifelong learning across the state.
“Avery worked very hard to reach his goals, completing his GED in a short time while also serving in his church and community,” said Martin Brock, OFTC Adult Education Instructor. “He was diligent, dependable, and always maintained a positive attitude. I believe his hard work and determination truly deserve to be recognized.”
The Technical College System of Georgia’s (TCSG) Office of Adult Education sponsors the annual EAGLE Leadership Institute.
