Sharon Lake was selected as the recipient of the Randy Helton Family Scholarship for the 2023 summer semester. Sharon is enrolled in the Radiologic Technology program on the Dublin campus and is from Mitchell.

“The reason I enrolled in the Radiology Technology program is because I would like to remain in the medical field,” Lake shared. “I have worked as a LPN since 1994 and was seeking a career change. When the company I worked for decided not to renew the contract at the prison where I was working as a nurse, I decided to continue my education instead of continuing in the work field. I feel that OFTC offers a diverse number of programs for a person to be successful in their career choice.”

The Randy Helton Family Scholarship is made possible by donations from Foundation Trustee Randy Helton and his family.

Lottie Greir of Sparta is the recipient of the Hancock Strong Allied Health Scholarship for the 2023 Summer Semester. Grier is enrolled in her last semester of the practical nursing program on the Sandersville Campus.

“My family has suffered tremendous loss over the last few years,” Grier shared. “It was hard to stand by and not help; but thanks to OFTC I am confident that I can help people who have medical needs.”

The Hancock Strong Allied Health Scholarship is made possible thanks to generous donations from a anonymous donor.
