Local High School Seniors Graduate with Awards Thanks to OFTC’s Dual Enrollment Program

OFTC – While hundreds of high school seniors will walk across the stage to receive their high school diploma this spring, 118 local high school grads will garner additional awards because of their participation in Oconee Fall Line Technical College’s (OFTC) Dual Enrollment program.
Georgia’s Dual Enrollment Program allows qualified high school students to maximize their education and career training by taking courses that earn college and high school credit at the same time.
Under Dual Enrollment, students may take academic core courses that can transfer to Technical College System of Georgia colleges or University System of Georgia (USG) colleges and universities. Students may also take occupational and career courses that can help jump start a career.
“These graduating seniors are outstanding individuals,” shared Jennifer Todd, OFTC’s Director of High School Initiatives. “The effort they’ve made toward furthering their education and future careers is exceptional. They’ve proven to be dedicated, hardworking, and full of life. We know they are going to do great things as they move into this next chapter of their lives.”
“These students are now even more prepared to embrace what’s ahead,” added Dr. Saketha Adams, OFTC’s Vice President of Student Affairs.
OFTC’s dual enrollment program offers students several pathways to succeed sooner. Some students take occupational courses like nurse aide, cosmetology, welding, diesel, or industrial systems to get a jumpstart on their careers, while others take degree level courses like English, Psychology, Pre-Calculus, or History to earn college credits that will transfer to four-year colleges and universities.
The following graduating high school seniors have earned a Technical Certificate of Credit (TCC) or a Diploma through OFTC’s dual enrollment program.
