Jayson Johnston Sworn in As Newest Member to OFTC Board of Directors

The Oconee Fall Line Technical College (OFTC) Board of Directors (BOD) inducted Jayson Johnston of Washington County as its newest member during a Sandersville meeting, Wednesday, October 18. 

Johnston was sworn in by Washington County Probate Judge Russell Sheppard.  

Although governed by the State Board of the Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG), OFTC’s local board of directors plays an important role in accomplishing the mission of the College while working in concert with the State Board.  

The purpose of the local board is to facilitate the delivery of programs, services, and activities as directed by the State Board of the TCSG. They also advise the President and State Board of local industry and community needs for the programs and services provided by the technical college, and advocate within the community and the state on issues of importance in support of workforce development efforts. 

Johnston currently serves as the Executive Director of the Development Authority for Washington County. He is a member of the Georgia Economic Developers Association, Chairman for the Washington County Archway Executive Committee, Board member for First Love Kids, Committee member for the Workforce and Education Committee through the Washington County Chamber of Commerce and was named to Georgia Trend’s 2014 class of 40 under 40.
