The OFTC Foundation Announces Spring 2024 Scholarship Recipients

The Oconee Fall Line Technical College (OFTC) Foundation recently awarded student scholarships for the spring 2024 semester. The mission of the OFTC Foundation is to support students and programs at the college and the following scholarships are one way they accomplish that mission.

Spring 2024 Foundation Scholarship Recipient, Linda Shenk.

Horadan Early Childhood Education Scholarship

Linda Shenk is a recent recipient of the Horadan Early Childhood Education Scholarship for the spring 2024 semester. Shenk is from Johnson County and attends classes on the Dublin campus. This scholarship is made possible by donations from the family of former OFTC President, Dr. Lloyd Horadan.

Spring 2024 Foundation Scholarship Recipient, Katie Sanchez

Randy Helton Family Scholarship

Katie Sanchez is the recipient of the Randy Helton Family Scholarship for the spring 2024 semester. Sanchez is from Dublin and is enrolled in the Health Care Assistant program on the Dublin campus. This scholarship is made possible by donations from Foundation Trustee, Randy Helton and his family.

Sodmasters CTD Scholarships

Quinn Whitehead and Tyvik Wallace were recently selected as recipients of the Sodmasters Commercial Truck Driving (CTD) Scholarship for the spring 2024 semester. Both live in Eastman and are enrolled in the CTD Program on the Dublin campus. This scholarship is made possible by donations from Sodmasters Turf Farms.

Gene Haas Scholarship

Deandre Williams is the recipient of a Gene Haas Scholarship for the spring 2024 semester. Williams is a lives in Eastman and is enrolled in the Diesel Technology program on the Dublin campus. This scholarship is made possible by a grant from the Gene Haas Foundation.

Hancock Strong General Scholarship

Anissa Worthen is a recipient of the Hancock Strong General Scholarship for the spring 2024 semester. The scholarship is available to residents of Hancock County who attend OFTC. Worthen is from Sparta and enrolled in OFTC’s nursing program. The Hancock Strong Scholarships are made possible by an anonymous donor.

Sterrett ADN Scholarship

Lea Toney is a recipient of the Jack Sterrett ADN Scholarship for the spring 2024 semester. Tony is from Dudley and is enrolled in the ADN program on the Dublin campus. This scholarship is made possible by donations from Dr. & Mrs. Jack Sterrett. 

Tommy Barlow Scholarship

David Penny is the recipient of the Tommy Barlow Scholarship for the spring 2024 semester. David is from Adrian and enrolled in the Automotive Technology program on the Dublin Campus.

 

Merchants & Citizens Scholarships

Seven students from Telfair County who attend OFTC’s Dublin Campus have been selected as recipients of a Merchants & Citizens Bank Scholarship for the spring 2024 semester. Isabella Summerlin is enrolled in the Respiratory Care program, Haylee Heaton is enrolled in the Sonography program, Montana Anderson (np) is enrolled in the Health Care Assistant program, Alexa Blackburn is enrolled in the Accounting program, Stephanie Brown (np) is enrolled in the Sonography program, Mahaley Akins is enrolled in Respiratory Care program, and Mackenzie Ivey is enrolled in the Imaging Science program. These scholarships are made possible by donations from the Merchants & Citizens Bank.

The OFTC Foundation, Inc. is an independent nonprofit 501(c)(3) organizations established to support students and programs at the college. The Foundation is governed by a local board of trustees whose mission is to maintain a focus on local campus needs that mirrors the direction of Oconee Fall Line Technical College. Donors’ wishes will be adhered to and existing donor agreements will continue to be enforced.
