Radiologic Technology students

Students enrolled in Oconee Fall Line Technical College’s (OFTC) Radiologic Technology program recently attended the 31st Student and Radiographer’s Conference in Atlanta.

This opportunity allowed students to participate in sessions covering an array of topics important to the radiologic technology field, gaining insight into changes and advancements within the profession, and learn firsthand the importance of professionalism and networking.

Attending students were: Melissa Alday, Macon; Kaleb Cannon, East Dublin; Billie Jean Conklin, Dublin (formerly Sandersville); Cyndal Harrell, Dublin, GA; Sharon Lake, Mitchell; Alexandria McLendon, East Dublin; Laura Simmons, Eastman; Lee Stewart, Dudley; Kaylee Wilson, Swainsboro (formerly Adrian).

During the conference, OFTC’s Sharon Lake finished 4th out of 83 students participating in the Rad Tech Student Quiz Bowl. And of the 143 students who participated in the ARRT Mock Registry Exam, OFTC’s Melissa Alday achieved the highest score, with Lee Stewart placing in the top five.

These students are in their final semester of OFTC’s program and will graduate in June. Upon completion of the program, they’ll be eligible to apply to the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists testing in the specialty areas of their program to become Certified Radiologic Technologists.
