Sharoko Farley, OFTC Commercial Truck Driving (CTD) grad and TCSG's 2024 Rick Perkins Award Winner.

DUBLIN, GA (OFTC) – Sharoko Farley, the 2024 Rick Perkins Award winner for the Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG) and a graduate of Oconee Fall Line Technical College’s (OFTC) Commercial Truck Driving (CTD) program, will serve as the guest speaker for OFTC’s 2025 Spring Commencement & High School Equivalency Graduation Ceremony on Thursday, June 5 at 7 p.m.

The ceremony will be held on the College’s South Campus in Dublin at the DuBose Porter Business and Industry Training Center.

Farley’s career spans more than two decades in the trucking industry—beginning as a professional driver, then a successful business owner, and now as an instructor at Central Georgia Technical College.

His journey is one marked by redemption and resilience. After facing significant personal and professional setbacks, Farley returned to OFTC to refresh his skills and reenter the workforce with a renewed sense of purpose. Following a successful career on the road—and reflecting on the encouragement and mentorship he received from his instructors as a CTD student—Farley committed himself to giving back. He accepted a full-time instructor position at Central Georgia Technical College, where he now helps students become skilled, safety-minded drivers and empowers them to believe in their own potential.

In recognition of his outstanding contributions to technical education, Farley was named the 2024 Rick Perkins Award Winner for Excellence in Technical Instruction—the highest honor for instructors in Georgia’s technical college system. Over the past year, he has represented TCSG statewide as an ambassador for technical education, workforce development, and student success.
