Ray Receives Randy Helton Family Scholarship from OFTC Foundation

OFTC Foundation Scholarship Recipient

OFTC – Catherine Ray was recently named recipient of the Randy Helton Family Scholarship for the 2025 summer semester by the Oconee Fall Line Technical College (OFTC) Foundation.

The Randy Helton Family Scholarship was established in 2019 by Trustees of the former OFTC Foundation North to honor long serving Trustee Randy Helton and his service to the college and the Foundation. Helton and his family continue to maintain funding for the scholarship.

Recipients must maintain a 3.0 GPA, submit an essay on why they chose OFTC, and must have a faculty recommendation.

Ray is a resident of Tennille, Ga., and attends OFTC’s Sandersville Campus. She is enrolled in an allied health program with a goal of becoming a Registered Nurse through the College’s Associate of Science in Nursing Degree program.

Dedicated and determined to accomplish her goals, Ray is committed to her class attendance and coursework, which is reflected in her OFTC GPA.

“Catherine is motivated and determined to reach her goals and always has a pleasant attitude,” shared one of Ray’s OFTC instructors.

“Catherine is a prime example of the type of recipient this scholarship was established to help,” shared
Kathy Aaron, Executive Director of the OFTC Foundation and member of the Helton family. “The Foundation and OFTC would like to congratulate Catherine on her accomplishments and wishes her the very best in her career.”
