OFTC Graduates Honored with 2024 Fall Commencement Ceremony
OFTC – Nearly 50 Oconee Fall Line Technical College (OFTC) credit graduates were honored during the College’s 2024 Fall Commencement Ceremony held on the Sandersville Campus, Thursday, November 14.
Graduates received degrees, diplomas and technical certificates of credit in a variety of high-demand fields like Early Childhood Care and Education, Pharmacy Technology, Welding and Joining Technology, Networking Specialist, Commercial Truck Driving, and more.
“We cannot express how proud we are to see you walk across the stage tonight to receive your credential,” shared Dr. Saketha Adams, OFTC’s Vice President of Student Affairs, as she addressed the graduates. “Your dedication and perseverance have brought you to this moment, and it’s truly inspiring to witness.”
“You will always be a part of the OFTC family,” she continued. “We wish you all the best as you embark on this exciting new chapter in your life and career. We have no doubt you are ready to achieve great things.”
Pam Stewart, Chief Executive Officer of the Washington County Regional Medical Center (WCRMC) in Sandersville served as keynote speaker during the 2024 Fall commencement ceremony, addressing the graduates and applauding them for their hard work and dedication in accomplishing their goals.
We are celebrating a milestone,” Stewart said. “It’s more than a ceremony. This is a milestone that signifies the culmination of your hard work, dedication and growth. As I look at each of you, I see a group of passionate individuals with unique talents and skills and you’re ready to take on a new world.”
Stewart shared several key principles to encourage the graduates as they prepare to start the next chapter of their lives and careers. She encouraged them to Continue to Learn, Cultivate Resilience, Boast a Positive Attitude, and to Be Consistent and Reliable.
“I challenge you to make a difference,” she said. “Think about the legacy you want to create. Use your knowledge, skills, and your passion to make an impact in your community.”
OFTC offers a first-class education that’s affordable and close to home. The college’s 2025 Spring Semester begins January 13 and students interested in starting classes with OFTC can apply online for free through November 30.
