OFTC Foundation Hosts Tenth Annual Golf Tournament
Sandersville, Ga., (OFTC) –The Oconee Fall Line Technical College (OFTC) Foundation hosted its tenth annual golf tournament Saturday, June 22 at the Twin City Country Club in Tennille.
Participants played a four-man scramble of 18 holes, ate lunch, and were selected for door prizes. Sixteen teams consisting of 64 players participated in hopes of winning the coveted first place prize – a round of golf for four at one of four courses at Reynolds at Lake Oconee in Greensboro.
OFTC Foundation Vice Chair, Jeff Brown, started the event with a welcome followed by instructions from Trustee, Allen Haywood.
With a score of 54, the first-place winners and recipients of the golf package at Reynolds at Lake Oconee went to the Georgia Power/Southern Company team of Kyle Hammock, Matthew Waller, Tyler Rhodes, and Casey Woods.
Second place winners who received $100 each and boasted a score of 56 were the 1st State Bank team of Don Wren, Joey Kaney, Randall Johnson and Gregg Wolfe.
The RG Jackson, LLC team placed third with a score of 57 and each received $75 each. Third place team members were Roy Jackson, Steve Joiner, Floyd Potter, and Trevor Cobb.
“The tournament scores were extremely close and we’d like to congratulate each one of these winners on a game well played,” said Kathy Aaron, Executive Director of The OFTC Foundation. “This year’s tournament was another great success,” she added, “and we’d like to thank the members of our communities for their continued support and the OFTC Trustees who helped ensure the event’s success.”
While playing the game is fun, the number of students who will benefit from the support is the most exciting part Aaron shared. “OFTC students will now have even more opportunities for added resources and success thanks to your support,” she said. “On behalf of the OFTC Foundation, thank you to each and every one who supported this event, especially the golfers and sponsors! We look forward to next year’s event where we hope to continue and add to the great work we are doing in the lives of OFTC students.”
