OFTC Announces Special Events for 2025 Black History Month 

OFTC's 2025 Black History Month event speakers

OFTC – Oconee Fall Line Technical College (OFTC) will host several speakers for various Black History Month student events across its campuses in February. 

These events will reflect on the rich history, culture, and contributions of the African American community.  

  • The Sandersville Campus will host keynote speaker, Dr. Chris Edwards, the Multi-Site Operations Manager for Vulcan Materials Company, on Wednesday, February 12 from 11 AM – 1PM in the Tarbutton Center. OFTC students will enjoy a bagged lunch sponsored by Student Life at the conclusion of the event. 
  • Mr. John Porter, author, certified life and relationship coach, and motivational speaker with Empower U Coaching Group will address the students at the Jefferson County Center on Thursday, February 13th from 9:00 – 10:30 AM in room # 108. Students will enjoy sweet treats sponsored by Student Life at the conclusion of the event.  
  • Students on the Dublin Campus will gather on Tuesday, February 25 from 11AM – 1PM in the Porter Center to listen to Mr. Vanzil Burke, CEO of The Burke Management Firm. OFTC students will enjoy a bagged lunch sponsored by Student Life at the conclusion of the event.
