Marc Rogers Sworn in as OFTC’s First Chief of Police

Dublin, Ga., (OFTC) — Oconee Fall Line Technical College (OFTC) Chief of Safety, Security and Facilities of 10 years, Marc Rogers, was recently sworn in as the college’s first Chief of Police, Friday, July 26 on the College’s Dublin Campus by Judge Judson ‘Jud’ Green IV of the Eighth Judicial Administrative District of Georgia.
Prior to this appointment, Rogers served as the College’s Chief of Facilities, Safety, and Security.
“I am honored to witness the swearing-in of our first Chief of Police,” shared OFTC President, Erica Harden. “This momentous occasion marks a significant step forward as OFTC establishes its inaugural police department.”
When plans were set in motion several months ago to establish an on-campus police department, Harden knew Rogers was the right candidate to lead the initiative.
“I am thrilled to welcome Marc Rogers as our inaugural Chief of Police,” Harden said. “With a long history of dedicated service to our college in safety, security, and facilities, Marc brings exceptional qualifications to this role. His military background and prior experience as a Dublin City Police officer equip him with a unique skill set to lead our department.”
“Mark possesses a genuine commitment to serving our students and community,” she added, “and I am confident in his ability to build a strong and effective police force that will make a positive impact on our campus.”
OFTC’s Police Department will serve the OFTC community with the goal of protecting life and property. They will respond to all calls for law enforcement services and will enforce the Technical College System of Georgia and OFTC policies and procedures, as well as state and federal laws.
“Our top priority has always been the safety and well-being of our students, staff, faculty, and the broader community across all our campuses,” Harden shared. “We are confident that this new department will be instrumental in enhancing security for everyone associated with OFTC.”
