Local Kindergarten Classes Attend OFTC’s Mrs. Claus Reads in Dublin
Dublin, Ga., (OFTC) – Nearly 700 Kindergarten students from Northwest Laurens Elementary School, Trinity Christian School, East Laurens Primary School, Susie Dasher Elementary School, Hillcrest Elementary School, and Southwest Laurens Elementary School visited with Mrs. Claus during Oconee Fall Line Technical College’s (OFTC) Mrs. Claus Reads event in Dublin, Monday, December 9th and Tuesday, December 10th.
Smiles filled the children’s faces as they entered to see the hallways of the DuBose Porter Business and Industry Training Center lined with Christmas trees decorated for the Festival of Trees, and Mrs. Claus surrounded by Christmas books.
Mrs. Claus, played by various OFTC employees and community members, including Kim David, OFTC’s Vice President for Economic Development, Michele Strickland, OFTC’s Vice President for Academic Affairs, and Ronda Walker, read several Christmas stories including Olive the Other Reindeer, Sammy Claus, and The Night Before Christmas.
Before dismissing, each student received a special Christmas coloring page and bookmark from OFTC, and a book purchased with donations from the Dublin Philanthropic Educational Organization (PEO) chapter, the Dublin Rotary Club, and the OFTC Foundation.
